These last months have been very difficult for everyone. As with every business, the auction industry has had to adapt and here at Silverwoods we are happy to say that a combination of dedicated staff, loyal customers and an eager market has allowed us to present a varied selection with good prices realised.
This Meissen figure group made £2,500 with the Foxy Gent coming in at a healthy £1,000, buoyed by being a factory prototype, followed by Jeremy Fisher by Royal Doulton making £800. Toys have been consistent performers for a while now and the Britains set of Racing Colours of Famous Owners made £330. Good paintings sell well and this was the case for Arthur E Grimshaw (1864-1913) who's atmospheric street scene made £11,000. Mid century Modern is fashionable and we've had a variety of lamps especially of note a floor standing anglepoise, probably from a drawing office, which made £270.
Life is steadily returning to normal and there is much to be optimistic about, we anticipate sales will continue to thrive and we look forward to seeing our customers again face to face. We are taking in items for the next Fine Art and Rediscovery sales in August and we are always accepting items for future specialist sales. Contact us for more information or call into our Salesroom weekdays from 9:00-4:00 to speak with a valuer.
